Rastrick Photography Group 10th Anniversary

On 24th May 2025 Rastrick Photography Group celebrates a massive 10 years of meetings!

I started the group back in 2015, with the first meeting falling on the last Saturday of that month, 30th May.   My intention with the group was to meet with fellow local photographers to share my enthusiasm and knowledge for photography, and to learn from others’ own experience.

Over the course of ten years the group has grown steadily with new attendees every month. The group currently has a core of approximately 10 regular members with many others visiting periodically and interacting within the group social media spaces on Facebook and Whatsapp.

To celebrate this huge milestone, the club is hosting and exhibition of photographs from club members, from over the years.   32 framed photographs will be on display around Rastrick Library.   We are asking all visitors to the library to vote on their favourite photograph in the exhibition, whilst making a small donation to The Friends of Rastrick Library.   The photographs can also be purchased with a  larger donation.

From 10:30am on the 24th of May, instead of our regular meeting we will be holding a coffee morning (with tea and cake too) with members of the club on hand to answer any photography questions any visitors may have and to talk about the exhibition and the club.

The group meets on the fourth Saturday of each month, from 10.30am to 12.30pm in the reading room at Rastrick Library, and is completely free to attend, we have no membership fees or subs. At each meeting, there is a collection plate for a completely voluntary donation to the Friends of Rastrick Library.

The group is open to digital and film photographers, of all ages and skill levels. The group has a varied programme with something of interest for everyone from demonstrations, talks, portrait sessions, presentations, competitions and critiques to social events and photo walks.
